At this year's GITEX, the Dubai eGovernment stand will attract active participation from all government departments in Dubai. There will be a group of workstations to highlight and present all eServices provided through the Dubai eGovernment portal as well as to demonstrate the benefits of electronic transactions to the visitors and end-users.

'Dubai eGovernment has been an active participant in GITEX,' said Salem Al Shair, eServices Director, Dubai eGovernment. 'GITEX serves as an ideal platform for Dubai eGovernment to promote its range of online services as it reaches out to a large section of Dubai's population, especially the corporate sector, who can play a major role in furthering the scope of eServices. GITEX continues to reflect the importance and phenomenal growth of the IT industry in the region by continually highlighting the latest technology and services from international manufacturers and suppliers.'

'Our main goal of participating in GITEX is to promote our range of eServices and spread awareness among the public and the corporate sector about the benefits of using electronic services of Dubai government. Further, GITEX presents numerous networking opportunities,' added Al Shair.

The range of eServices that Dubai eGovernment will promote during GITEX include mDubai, eCitizen, eLibrary, Ask Dubai, ePay and e4all.

Among the departments that will be demonstrating a wide range of online services at the Dubai eGovernment stand at GITEX Dubai 2005 are Dubai Police, Al-Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, Dubai Municipality, Dubai Development Board, Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department, e-TQM College, Tanmia, The Land Department, Dubai Transport, Dubai Real Estate Department, Dubai Civil Aviation, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Labour, Dubai Airport and Free Zone Authority, Islamic Affairs and Awqaf Department, Department of Economic Development, Dubai Civil Defence, Dubai Justice Department, Dubai Government Workshop, Department of Health and Medical Services (DOHMS), Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), Dubai Media Incorporated, Dubai Metals and Commodities Center, Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation and Dubai Public Prosecution.

Dubai eGovernment is a pioneering initiative in the region to provide online services across the spectrum of corporate and community life in the emirate. It also has a vision to integrate individually automated government departments under the single umbrella of the eGovernment initiative, thus empowering employees across lines of businesses and levels of government, besides facilitating the lives of citizens and customers of the government. Dubai eGovernment portal, www.dubai.ae is a single contact point eliminating the complexity of bureaucratic procedures, and guiding access to all services in the easiest possible way.
