Voter Turnout as an Important Aspect of Electoral Participation

During the last decade the world has seen a decline in voter turnout affecting a majority of countries and all regions.Any type of representative democracy has some sort of majority rule as a core principle. Those who are chosen to represent the voters are supposed to have a significant part of the citizens behind them.
