Who is who in the e-government in the Arab world




Salem Khamis Al-Shair

Salem Khamis Al-Shair graduated in December 1986 with a B.Sc in Computer Science from the prestigious California State University, USA and joined the Dubai Municipality as a programmer that same year. He was then promoted to Head of the User Support division, and later Head of the Geographical Information System (GIS) team.

In April 1994 he was appointed as Information Technology Director, and in April 1994 he became Director of the Finance and Administration Division at the Department of Economic Development. In 1999 H.H Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and UAE Defence Minister appointed him as Head of Dubai’s Strategy team for eBusiness and later in April 2000 as member of the Dubai eGovernment Executive Team. Subsequently, Mr. Al-Shair was appointed Director of eServices for the Dubai eGovernment.
